It enhances water resistance by adding Durable Water Repellency (DWR), helping to prevent water absorption, reduce weight gain, and maintain the natural insulation and breathability of down in cold, damp environments. This treatment extends the lifespan of your down items by applying a flexible, water-repellent coating to each down filament and fabric fiber. It allows moisture vapor to escape while shielding the material from rain and condensation, preserving warmth and comfort. Easy to apply using a standard washing machine, Nikwax Down Proof™ ensures even coverage across both the fabric shell and internal down fill.
