6. Mt. Kilimanjaro

The following is our suggested gear list for anybody preparing to climb Mt Kilimanjaro. The overall trek is rugged and very up and down, but bear in mind that you are generally at altitudes much higher than your body is used to—particularly when you get close to the summit. Additionally, because you are taking in less oxygen,  temperatures all feel colder. It is important to have plenty of adaquate thermal cothing. Technical fibers like polyester, which wicks and dries incredibly fast, as well as merino wool which has superior insulating capabilities and odor-resistance, are best.

While we take every care with our recommendations, please bear in mind that your gear and clothing should be chosen according to what fits you best. Items like boots and shoes in particular need to be chosen with great attention to personal comfort and fit. Only men's items have been listed below to avoid duplication. If equivalent women's items do not exist then alternatives have been listed. If you have any questions or need further detail, don't hesitate to contact us.
